"I’d like to see ‘Brett’ go to South Wales, or another of the former coalmining areas and express his feelings about the miners in the manner he has done here. He’d be lucky to get out in one piece. The miners were decent hardworking lads who were brought to their knees in a vicious campaign of dirty tricks run by Thatcher and the Tories."

If the miners are such amicable, nice, cuddly little fellows then why would they assault someone who disagrees with them?

Oh yes- most of our countries recent woes were caused by Tory policy, and New labour's policy of following Tory policy.

62% of people in a recent poll think that the privatised essential utilities (water, gas, electricity) should be nationalised again. Network Rail is nationalised in all but name- Labour just won't take the final step of CALLING it nationalised.

"The NHS has to make a profit"- where the hell does the word 'profit' come into health care?

Local authority departments have to make a 'profit'- so they end up recharging themselves for things that have already been paid for. What the hell do councils need an 'internal market' for?

Maggie sold off all the social housing- and NONE of the money went to local authorities- so now first-time buyers can't even get a council house.

Well, at least Gordon Brown is trying to act like a real Labour Prime Minister rather than a President. If an election is soon called, let's hope Labour continues with a further mandate. The astute amongst us know who to vote for.

The Tory party has been described as being the stupid party, and the postings from Tory supporters on this site underline this.

Grammatically incorrect, insulting and generally odious, they are representative of the attitudes of hardcore Tories who would vote for a monkey just as long as it was wearing a blue rosette. Come to think of it, they supported Hague in 2001 and you don't get much more stupid than that.

The postings of these idiots remind us all why the Tories must never again be entrusted with governing our country. They are selfish, mean, greedy, stupid and utterly incompetent.

Is the lack of input to this board a reflection on the political state of the nation?

Anyway, I doubt if Brett is a genuine poster - but he sounds like a right tory t*t.

I'm worried as I feel all the Labour in fighting will let David 'we'll see what we can do about it' Cameron get in by a small majority. This cannot happen as the tories now are getting so desperate they are jumping on any bandwagon they can - with no acutal policies.

We are surrounded by politicians who don't give a tupenny sh*t about the working class anymore, but I still prefer a Labour-Liberal coalition over those blue, tax cutting, public service hating, immigrant hating noshers!

Let's make sure 'Brett's' comments are published widely. They're typical arrogant Tory wanker.

Hmm, Brett, let me see. I'm surrounded by illiterate working-class nobodies here in South Wales. By gum, they must have been nobodies. Mostly highly skilled colliers and steelworkers. Creating the raw materials from which British industry was built. 150,000 of them in Wales alone lost their jobs because of Tory policy between 1976 and 1985. But most of them got back on their non-working legs, and ooo, look, some of them have got degrees! Some have maintained successful businesses! Some have risen to the heights of local government! Some have them have doctorates in transport policy!

And as for farmers- well, they do make a large contribution to the agrarian economy, as they always have- but more than quite a few are quite willing to take their subsidies from the EEC, and not follow the regulations that come with the money. FMD- dozens of farmers walking away with millions in compensation. Tourism industry- North Cornwall alone lost millions. The workers who cleaned and serviced the hotels didn't get compensation. Hundreds of hotels and B&B's closed down, never to reopen.

I'm not at all jealous of Tories. I don't really see the point of them anymore. You can't run the country like a shop- pile it high, sell it cheap.

Oh, and most of my fellows in Deep Navigation were homespun philosophers, poets, musicians, humanists, and carried more moral fibre and 'hwyl' than most Bishops I know.
